Pack the van, hit the road

TripGenZ Games is the independent game studio of TRIPGENZ LTD in east London. We design packing and route puzzles for Android about a group of friends on a road trip in an old camper van.

Every stop asks for something different. Sometimes the tent and guitar must squeeze into the back, and sometimes the route must reach the campsite before sunset.

Packing puzzles use simple shapes that rotate with a tap, and each item has a reason to be there, so leaving something behind changes what happens at the next stop. Routes are drawn on a hand-made map where fuel has to be balanced against scenery and the wishes of the group.

The art is bright and cheerful, with sticker-covered windows and a playlist that changes with each region. Trips are short and can be paused at any point.

There are no timers, no adverts and nothing to buy. Finished trips are saved as a photo album that fills as the van travels further. Each friend in the van has a small personal story that unfolds over the trip.
